It has been seven years since Belén Salcedo decided to undertake the challenge of promoting paddleball outside of Spain. Little by little, the Cartagena was taking the necessary steps to realize her dream: to create her own club. Good friend of Padel World Press, he wanted to tell us how he has lived this beautiful adventure.

Padel World Press .- From the 24 to the 30 of April, the World Paddle Tour Circuit passed through Miami, in a sample of the growing interest that this sport is beginning to awaken in American lands.

One of its main 'bastions' is Houston, city where the American Federation is based and where a good friend of Padel World Press, like Belén Salcedo, has just opened more than just a club.

Very excited to have made a dream come true, the Cartagena wanted to tell us about the process that led her to launch the 'iPádel Project'.

"Hello Oscar. If you want, I'll talk a little about my project because it's really my baby.

I left Spain for 7 years ago to promote the sport of paddle tennis, first in Canada and then in the United States. I devoted myself a little to everything: to study, to work and to meet people always with one thing in mind, which was none other than being able to create my own paddle tennis center abroad.

Finally, after this long journey, from the purchase of the land to the final permit, with much sacrifice and performance it has been achieved ... It has been almost two and a half years of dedication and thanks to my family, my husband Mike May and his family at this time we can say that we have a Center with which we have managed that people, when they have come to know it, have been left speechless… They all want to return !!

We have given it a lot of love and we have tried to create a paddle tennis club in which what we want is that people feel comfortable, like at home. There are a multitude of colors, starting with the wooden fence outside, which was painted by 30 children from a nearby school, continuing with padel murals on the walls of the clubhouse. I put a little bit of art from my vintage, there is also recycled furniture from wooden pallets, ideas from friends ... Thanks to USA Padel LLC for providing the color combination of the tracks, in red and blue, like the American flag. iPadel Houston is a cocktail of ideas that we want everyone to like.

Currently there are people who rent us the club for birthday celebrations, meetings with friends ...

In short, we have opted for paddle tennis in a new area of Houston ... It is a new challenge, an illusion. We are sure that this model will work and that it can be replicated in other areas of the USA.

Belén Salcedo. "
