He is one of the leading coaches in the world of paddle tennis. Considered one of the first great players in the history of this wonderful sport, the Argentine is preparing to face a new challenge in his career: to train Carolina Navarro y Cecilia Reiter.

Padel World Press .- They will form an 100% team StarVie. From the prestigious firm look with optimism and optimism the imminent start-up of this new project, in which both the players and the technician will work with the goal of enjoying on the track and fight for the achievement of ambitious goals.

Motivator, of those people capable of taking full advantage of their pupils, Horacio Álvarez Clementi He hopes to get Carol and Ceci back on the path that made them one of the most feared duos of the Women's Circuit.

Next, we leave you with an interview conducted by the star's brand, in which the coach analyzed what he expects from the 2017 season.

What are the objectives set for the new campaign?

Right now, they are resting and will perform the physical preseason in Buenos Aires. In the month of March we will begin to work. Regarding the objectives that I have, when leaving as a couple number four, the first thing I want is for them to consolidate as such. Little by little, they will reach many semifinals and, of course, aim for some final as well. I think Cecilia has a game that we can work a lot and get much more performance. With Carolina, who is a player who has great ball handling, I will try to do some things more tactically, with the aim of empowering the couple.

What do you feel about this new challenge?

I started training Cecilia when I was very small. I left it when she had 12 and we have a very good relationship, as with Carol. I'm very excited because I think we can form a good team. You can get very good results.

He has a long career in the paddle. How did you start in this discipline?

I started like everyone. I was a tennis player and in the 1985 year a friend invited me to try a new sport; I played it and I started to get excited. We created a group of friends who came to play tennis at a competitive level and we started to get excited about the paddle, so we got more serious: we formed the professional players association and started to make a professional circuit that ended up being the Coca-Cola Circuit . It was like a World Paddle Tour Circuit but in the 1987 year. From there, without realizing it, I started to make it a little more serious. I stopped tennis and I devoted myself fully to the paddle. My transition was a bit accidental; It was not planned and very natural.

Were the pioneers?

Yes, the first crystal track was built by my partner's father, who was Alejandro Lasaigues, because Coca-Cola asked us to broadcast it on television and we had to invent a court in 1987. We started with that track and nowadays, all the clubs that have the crystal court, have a copy of the track that we built in that year.

For many years it was the 1 number in the world. How does it feel to be at the top of the ranking?

From 1987 to 1997 I was first in the world with my partner Alejandro Lasaigues. Then he continued his professional sports career with Roby Gattiker, who was my relay. To me, what I liked was playing, like most people now. I was very motivated and I did not think if it was 1 or 2 number but what I liked was to compete, try to improve every day and enjoy living the sport. If you are lucky enough to live off the sport, what you like to do, it is no longer a job, even if it is, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then, at the end of my career, I started preparing for the whole didactic part, developing a teaching method and I started to dedicate myself to club management.

He created and uses the Prac Paddle Method ... What does it consist of?

It is a method that I did with Jorge Nicolini, who was also the pioneer of the padel methodology that is currently used throughout the world. Later I was updating it and I added different levels of teaching depending on the evolution of the students. At the moment, I also train people from clubs, give courses and manage clubs in different countries.

Pracdel is a method that we incorporated according to our needs. Assemble the displacements with the movements because I think that if a player reaches the ball well he can perform the same movement several times and since this game is very dynamic, one receives the ball with different angles, speeds and height ... I think that what has to be To do the player is to adapt those movements to be able to make repetitions, which will give a little strength to your game.

As I say, different displacements were adapted according to the plays with the side wall, with the double wall, with the turns ..., always looking for simpler movements, since all those who come from tennis make very round, very circular movements and big. Playing with the rebounds is complicated, then assembling a movement based on the dimensions of the paddle court, which is less than tennis, is what will allow to be efficient in any game situation.

What would you recommend to those people who want to practice paddle but have not yet dared to take the step?

Paddle is a very fun sport that, with just 3 or 4 classes, allows the player to keep the ball in play, which is what it is all about. What falls in love with padel is that any person who does not have a lot of motor coordination can maintain a rally with continuity. They try to learn it to enjoy it and get more out of it, since playing with the walls requires a certain technique. The paddle has no age limits, it is played on a surface that does not generate joint injuries, it is very recreational and economical. I think it's fashion sport, after football, because of all those virtues.
