Now, yes. The countdown begins and fans count the hours for an unprecedented competition to raise the curtain. Each time less is needed for the start of an appointment in which, for the first time, four simultaneous tournaments will be played in four big clubs, with an honorary prize in play. One of the organizers of this project tells us what encouraged them to be part of this great initiative.

Padel World Press .- Regular in the Madrid Federation Circuit, where they organize several tests each season, from Green Sponsor they did not think twice when the opportunity arose to join an original, pioneering initiative, and in which several of the organizers would join their forces of the most important tournaments in the Community.

Very excited about his presence in the Iá Cup of Pádel Madrid, Rubén Peña, one of the people in charge of this company, told us about the first steps that ended up leading to this attractive project and what he and his colleagues are pursuing in this adventure

How and when did the idea of launching the Padel Madrid Cup come up?

The truth is that the idea came from Rubén, from EventPádel. In a talk, he told Oscar de Padel World Press and, through the confidence we had, the latter was the one who proposed us to join a different project, never seen before and in which we would also join forces with Miguel , from Time2Pádel.

It is not very normal for companies in the same sector to join forces. How was this alliance created?

Looking to the future, it is necessary that new actors come into play and offer different products focused on the amateur world. EventPádel, Time2Pádel and Padel World Press are leading companies in this sector. I believe that the alliance between companies has been very satisfactory since we all want to offer differentiating events and contents.

What is the objective you pursue with this competition?

What we intend is to offer the amateur some unusual events. The typical afternoon weekend tournament is very good but, through the Cup format, we want to go a step further and that the winner of each venue can face the other winners in a great final. It is something that at least seen from the outside, as a player, is attractive and different from what was seen before ... And it is that invites to participate and be able to be the 'Absolute Champion'.

How were the meetings, how was the process of deciding the competition format, the awards, the restrictions?

The truth is that at first it took a while, because 4 was different companies that were involved in doing something different and innovative. In the end, through emails and phone calls we have managed to bring to light a great project. From the first day, both EventPádel, Time2Pádel and we have turned to create a simultaneous game format, in four different clubs with a great final the next day. That is something still never seen.

Why were these four clubs chosen?

The idea of the I Padel Cup in Madrid is to cover the entire Community. That is why we selected the four geographical zones with the aim of being able to offer the amateur a nearby location in which to participate. The choice of the clubs was made taking into account our desire to offer the player some facilities of reference for the quality in the infrastructures. In short, these are clubs in which most fans usually play, so we hope you are encouraged and involved.

There are more and more tournaments and the fans have a bigger offer ... What makes the Padel Cup Madrid special and different?

It is true that there is more and more competition within weekend tournaments but we want to differentiate ourselves by offering something more. The fan will not just compete in a venue on the weekend and go home. The next day, the winners will be able to face the winning couples from the other 3 venues, so there will be a greater incentive for the player to participate and try harder to reach that grand final.

Will it be an isolated experience or will it have continuity over time?

The main thing is to ensure that all participants have a good taste in their mouth once the tournament is over. To see that they receive a good deal from both the organizers and the venues. The first stone is laid with which to be able to give continuity in time to the project ... But the first thing is to focus on this I Cup of Paddle in Madrid to go well to set new goals.

What reasons would you give to the fans so that they do not miss this I Cup of Pádel Madrid?

All those fans that trust us, and sign up at any of the venues, will enjoy a great day of paddle with the option of being able to play the final the next day. It is something new and different, that will not go unnoticed and that I, at least, would not hesitate to miss the opportunity to participate.
