This year, the two members of the StarVie Team they have only needed three tournaments to give their first blow on the table and, with a brilliant, electric, solid game and with great doses of talent and self-confidence, they achieved what very few thought before the start of the game: defeat one of the pairs safer and more reliable of the WPT Circuit: Matías Díaz and Maxi Sánchez.
In a collision full of alternatives, with equality as the main hallmark, Marina-Ruiz developed as authentic veterans, knew how to handle the pressure of decisive moments and managed to do something very complicated: close the victory by 4-6, 6- 3 and 7-6.
Fused in an embrace, with a broad smile drawn on their faces, they already know that in the next round they will have to measure their strength with those of Juan Martín Díaz-Cristian Gutiérrez.
The rest of the day
In the second match of the afternoon shift, Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima had more difficulties than expected to leave on the way some Borja Yribarren-Guga Vázquez who came to force the third set (6-1, 6-7 and 6-2 ).
For their part, Paquito Navarro-Sanyo Gutiérrez followed with firm steps and defeated Jaime Bergareche-Martín Sánchez Piñeiro for 6-3 and 6-4. Dominadores from beginning to end, they know that their presence will be played in semis against Maxi Grabiel-Ramiro Moyano, as they did in the Gijón Open. On that occasion, they achieved the triumph by 6-4 and 6-3.
To finish, in a real match, Marcello Jardim-Franco Stupaczuk returned to demonstrate that they should no longer be considered a 'surprise' and they surpassed Aday Santana-Willy Lahoz in an electric and vibrant shock. After their triumph by 7-6, 5-7 and 6-1, in the next round they will see the faces with Bela and Lima.
On Friday, 06 in May and from the 14: 00 hours, the four matches will be played in which the name of the qualifiers for the semifinal round will be defined.
