One of the first to achieve his goal was Lijo Santos and Cattaneo who, in one of the best crashes of the day, beat Sans Riola-Quilez Palleja for 6-2, 3-6 and 7-6. In those same moments, just a few tracks away, Sánchez Piñeiro-Leal Martínez also took an important step forward when he beat 6-3 and 6-2 to Matías Baez-Darío Gauna.
Another pair that made his dream come true was the Martinez-Matea team, which had to be used thoroughly to defeat Gomáriz-Bueno Gómez in three exciting sets (6-4, 4-6 and 6-3).
