Reviewing our archive, we find a fun article in which the companions of Padel Barcelona they told us about a very little sport practice, that surely many fans will have 'suffered' in the first person. Christian Garcia presented us with two clear examples of 'dark arts' before starting a game.

Padel World Press .- El rally before starting a paddle match it's more important than most people think. So that you can see its importance, or rather to what extent some people use it in a 'dark way', I always put two examples from personal experiences that I have found in some tests. It has only happened to me twice and it happened that it was in qualifying tournaments. There are two situations of lack of 'Fair Play' that say a lot about a person, so I hope you do not put into practice what I explain below.

On one occasion, during the rally prior to one of those games, my opponent did not hit the ball. A thousand hits to the net, some balls direct to the wall and others high and loose that did not allow me to execute the common shots of any commitment. The feeling he gave is that he was either that bad or he was listless and wanted to finish the rally as soon as possible to start the duel.

Once the game started it seemed that they had changed players. He had a very good touch and a great level of play, which he then showed during the match. You can already imagine how I started the shock. In the post-match I understood that he had been betting that he did not make a good rally and did not get into heat. The truth is that after seeing his level he did not need to have opted for this behavior but the facts proved me right.

The second time I found myself in the same situation, but in a different way ... The opponent threw the balls well at me but at no time did any ball reach me, either to the backhand volley, or to the backhand from the back of the court or nor 'normal' balloons to practice the smash or tray. I can't really say that I wanted to do it, but the feeling it gave me was that I didn't want it to 'heat up' those shots and then, during the game, attack those areas or cause failures due to lack of warm-up.

They are 'dark strategies' that say a lot about a person and that fail to comply with the 'Fair Play' that usually prevails in this sport.

These are situations that you can not guarantee to the 100% that your rivals have done it on purpose but then, during the duel, you see that the rally performed with the technique and quality demonstrated when the match started does not fit in any way.

Have you ever met with any 'Dark Strategy'?
