It has been two decades full of great moments, passion for the paddle, hope to overcome the new challenges and, of course, not to exceed. The October 22, the most responsible of the most important amateur competition in our country, shared with the fans a very special party, in which they celebrated their XXº Anniversary.
Padel World Press .- María, Silvela, Belén Castrillo, Juan Fontán and María Wakonigg, historical names of this sport, along with Marta Ortega, Seba Nerone, Pablo Lima and Maxi Sánchez (some of the current figures of the Paddle World Tour), shared with the amateurs a very special event, which filled with magic and great moments the facilities of Club El Estudiante from 15 to 23 in October.
An unforgettable Pro-Am, the dispute of something more than a simple tournament and a night of celebration marked the acts of the twentieth birthday of a Circuit sponsored by Estrella Damm, a company that soon saw the great potential of the padel both sporting as a social, so he did not hesitate to bet on launching an amateur competition of the highest quality.
In total, there were 750 Federated and Non-Federated players who participated in the Open and Veteran events, which would have involved exceeding in 72 participants the final 2014 event, with which this competition made history and entered the Guinness Book of the Records
One of the great novelties set in motion for the occasion was the Team Championship, a true reflection of the innovative spirit for which the Circuit has been characterized since it took its first steps. Always looking for new formats with which to keep surprising amateurs, maintaining direct and close contact with them has become a very important pillar, which is why a new website has been developed, with its own App and with very dynamic social networks that have become a fucking encounter to share the passion for this sport.
When explaining the reasons for the success of this competition, to know the keys that have allowed them to count on the loyalty of the players during these two decades, one could list the great gifts of registration of the StarVie brand, their outstanding prizes in all the categories, the careful organization and its permanent information, photographic reports, without ignoring, of course, the presence of the permanent tent of Estrella Damm, where you can taste your products during the ten tests of nine days and the twenty Express Tournaments held each year in the Community of Madrid and in the two held in the Valencian Community.
Fede Segarra, Communication Director of Estrella Damm, pointed out: “But, if something stands out, it is that we have always put the players at the center of all the actions of the Circuit, taking care of all the details by the entities involved”… And This is so because in its development the involvement and the sum of many efforts such as that of the referee judges (Ramón Gómez, José Vicente Talaván or Marta Satrústegui, among others), who contribute their professionalism, that of the Spanish Paddle Federation, is essential. at the beginning and of the Madrilenian Paddle Federation at present, that of the media that covers all its information and that of the hostesses who always attend the Estrella Damm tent with a smile ... Without forgetting the important mission in the organization and coordination of the Rumbo Sport team.
A party in every way
Fulfilling 20 years well deserved a very special celebration. For this reason, a spectacular Pro-Am was organized on Saturday 22 in October, in which 16 professionals shared a track with 16 participants of the two 20 Anniversary tournaments. Pablo Lima, Sanyo Gutiérrez, Paquito Navarro, Maxi Sánchez, Matías Díaz, Gaby Reca, Sebastián Nerone, Federico Quiles, Willy Lahoz, Fernando Poggi, Franco Stupaczuk, Ramiro Moyano, Cecilia Reiter, Carolina Navarro, Marta Ortega and Pedro Alonso gave a spectacular they made enjoy those present both on and off the field. Isabel Calvo and Sonsoles Nocito, two of the lucky participants, agreed: "It was a unique experience."
The high point came with the great party held at Club El Estudiante, where more than 500 people were present. The evening was full of emotion, with details such as the special prize given to Rafael Silvela, father of the champion, María Silvela, and who opted for the paddle since its inception when he was Director of the La Moraleja Paddle Club. He also recognized the great work done by Rumbo Sport in the organization of the Circuit since its inception. Cristina Fernández-Cid, its Director, wanted to remember the figure of Paco Sánchez, who was the one who started this project.
In turn, there was time for sports recognition in the figures of Carolina Navarro and Juan Martín Díaz (who sent a greeting from Miami), two of the players who were 'born' in the Circuit and reached the top of the world padel, as well as for Lorena Alonso and Willy Castañón, the two most awarded players in the history of this competition, to whom she presented the José Luis Amoroto prize from the Padilla Federation of Madrid. Finally, there was time to recognize all the followers. "The year does not make sense until each edition of Estrella Damm begins," said María Díez de Rivera who, along with Alana Rodríguez, Liliana Petruf, Mayi Nardiz, Pedro Soldado and Carlos Scandella, picked up the 'Prize for Fidelity'.
One of the great news that took place in this celebration of the XXº Anniversary of Estrella Damm Circuit was that the firm will continue to support the padel in a decisive way, as confessed in his speech by Demetrio Carceller, President of the company.
So we will continue to enjoy the surprises, the good times and the images to remember that a Circuit always offers us… With 'Star' !!
