Good bye, from 'forever' to a sport that has been and will continue to be everything in his life. The great Argentine player wanted to say goodbye to the fans inside the courts and he did it in the Pre-Previews of the Gijón Open.

Padel World Press .- It was at the end of the month of December when 2015 one of the most beloved and charismatic players among fans confirmed that it was time to hang up the paddle after more than 25 years squandering their claw and their talent within the tracks.

It was time to face new challenges, to regain the 'spark' of the illusion that he had lost at the time of facing both training and competitions ... And so, although he decided to step aside, he could not do it. any way: I wanted him to be inside a court, savoring for the last time those special moments he had shared with the paddle.

The followers of this wonderful sport in Gijón, a city in which the 'Gato' has very good friends, had the fortune of being able to enjoy the last two games in assets of this fierce and warrior player.

Together with Kike Lagarejos, he started his Pre-Preview adventure with a victory against two promising young players like Javier González Barahona-Jorge Nieto (double 6-3), before being overcome in the second round by Antonio Cardona-José Rico (6 -4 and 6-3).

With a smile on his face, with the satisfaction of having said goodbye in his own way, Gastón himself pointed out through his social networks: “We lost in Gijón and that's it… I'm going more relaxed. They are more than 25 years and now it is time to continue in another way. With paddle tennis, life made more sense ... Thank you all !! ”.

His will not be a farewell ... It will be a 'forever' as his memory will remain unforgettable in the memory of the fans and, in addition, we will continue to see him closely linked to this sport thanks to the projects of his company Malacalza Sport .

Good luck in your new stage, Gastón.
