Until that moment, in our country there was the Paddle Association, which later became the Spanish Grouping of Paddle Clubs. It took until 1997 for the Spanish Paddle Federation to be created, of which he held the position of President until 2000.
It should not be forgotten that he also defended the sport at the international level, being the highest leader of the FIP between 2003 and 2006. At 2003, he was awarded the Sports Merit Medal by the Spanish Paddle Federation.
Eduardo Góngora was a great athlete in handball, a discipline in which he achieved countless victories in the ranks of Atlético de Madrid. A fan of tennis and squash, his life was always closely linked to the world of sport. This is demonstrated by the fact that he presided from 1984 to 1988 the Spanish Squash Federation, with which he also managed to get it recognized as a sports modality at the institutional level.
