The games of the morning round of the Round of 16 of the Madrid test were settled with the victories of the great favorites although, in almost all of them, emotion and equality were the most outstanding notes.

In the first clash of the day, Maxi Gabriel and Ramiro Moyano had to work hard to overcome the combative Fernando Poggi-Jaime Bergareche in three sets. With a score of 6-4, 6-7 and 6-4, they secured their presence among the eight best pairs in the championship and already know that their next rivals will be Paquito Navarro-Matías Díaz.
Precisely these last ones were the following ones in jumping to the field to dispute a new reissue of the 'fratricidal duel' between the brothers Diaz Sangiorgio. In it, the triumph again fell on the side of Matthias who, along with his partner, took the victory by 6-0 and 7-5.
In the third commitment, Aday Santana-Willy Lahoz left on the way to Chico Gomes-Pablo Lijó who continue to go for more (6-2 and 6-4). With this result, the pupils of Horacio Álvarez Clementi took a new step in their fight to be among the eight couples that will qualify for the Masters Finals.
To end the morning session, Miguel Lamperti and Tito Allemandi could not relax for a single second to eliminate the revelation couple of the event: José Antonio García Diestro-Martín Sánchez Piñeiro. After a first set of infarction, which was resolved in the tiebreak, the second set was more comfortable for them (7-6 and 6-2).
