Laura Clergue, number 1 of the French padel and recent signing of Bullpadel, has decided to settle in our country with the aim of dedicating himself completely to professional padel. During her stay in Madrid, the gala player will tell us her experiences and her day to day through a particular 'Cuaderno de Bitácora'. Do not miss your first delivery.

Padel World Press .- From December 15 to 19, I took advantage of the beautiful occasion of going to the World Padel Tour Masters Finals to organize a visit to Madrid. That trip not only allowed me to see amazing games but also allowed me to get a taste of what my new life would be like. For now, I find the atmosphere quite relaxed and friendly. It's frustrating just being a spectator… what a sight! A lot of work awaits me 😅.

During several trips I made to Spain during 2016, and also in international events such as the European Championship and the World Championship, I was able to meet the players and members of the WPT Circuit. They always welcome us with open arms and with incredible sympathy despite the language barrier. Of course, I hope my official welcome on the tour is just as good. I think all the players of the Circuit are happy to see the internationalization of this sport and also to meet some new faces in this world, which is still quite closed and in which everyone knows each other.

The Masters week was important for me because I was able to have a first contact with some of my future sponsors, for example Bullpadel. Also with my future Academy and my club, in which I will spend at least 80% of my time in this 2017. I started discovering what will be my second home !!

About my meeting with Bullpadel, I have to say that those responsible were very nice to me. They showed me the new material for the year 2017… What I couldn't wait to see !! How nice it is!!

The most important thing for me was to try the shovels, my instrument of work throughout this year. They left me the shovels and shoes to be tested in France and so I could find the model that best suited my style.

At the same time, I used part of my stay in Madrid to find an apartment, spend time with my future coach and organize everything at the Academy of Monte-Carlo International Sports, located in the Club Sport Center Manolo Santana.

My goal was a complete success because I found an accommodation !! To begin with, I am going to live in a big house near the club (5 minutes) with a lady. The house is very good. I will have a bedroom and a bathroom with a separate entrance, so I am sure I will feel good for at least the first month. Once there, I will be able to see if I stay with that accommodation or look for another one where I want to live and with whom. 😉.

As I say, I also spoke with my coach about the organization of my weeks, the tournaments in which I will participate, my future work pace, the mentality that I will have to have, my potential teammates, my sponsors ... few words: of my new life. I liked being able to ask him all this, because those were questions that had been going around my head for a while. It was very reassuring to talk to someone who knew the answers.

After a few days in France, the 13 in January traveled back to Madrid and the 19 I did my first individual training.

All the information about my first weeks in Madrid and my future training team in the next chapter.

Thanks for follow me!!
