In the list you are almost the six best current couples in the world. How do you see this circumstance?
The female paddle in general is very strong and, in particular, the Spanish even more so. Right now, among the first in the ranking we are all Spanish except Ceci. Yes, it is true that two or three teams could be made but hey, you have to be very prepared to play a priori against the Argentines ... It will be a very complicated tie.
Linking with this last one that you have commented. Do you think we are favorites or in a World Cup things are more equal than they seem?
The reality is that when Argentine players put on their shirts, they play three more times. They are already great players, very experienced, and in sport you never have to relax… You have to try to win to the death.
You have been World Champion by selections nothing more and nothing less than four times and other three in Open Modality. How do you remember those Championships?
In the end, playing a World Cup and winning it is the most beautiful thing that can happen to an athlete. I am lucky to have played with the National Team since '98, except for one year when I was injured. The title of World Champion opens many doors for you and, furthermore, if you can go representing your country, being able to wear the national jersey, imagine… I hope I can be there again. I would be very excited.
After having won everything, where do you get that motivation to continue being up there and wanting to win another World Cup?
Well, very simple: because I enjoy doing what I do. I am a very competitive person, I love playing paddle tennis, today is my way of life and if you can do it over representing your country, it is much more enjoyable.
You are completing a very good campaign with Ceci Reiter, reaching the quarterfinals in all the tournaments, with two semis and one final. How do you rate this half of the season?
Well, the truth is that very well. We have returned to training with Miguel Sciorilli, who is giving us stability and a very good way of playing. Considering how the women's paddle is, I think we are doing a very regular season.
A wish you have Carolina for this end of the season?
I would like to play the World Championship by Selections and win it again.
