Padel World Press .- The new Spider of Black Crown is a shovel of a different line and its arachnid name makes us curious to see what this Spider is made of. We have been able to test it in depth in several games and we have to say that it is very easy to adapt to it, with its strengths and that has surprised us since at first glance we expected another type of shovel. As for the durability, we can not complain as we have not observed any defect or even having rushed with the walls (kissing the wall we mean, but in subtle). The weight of the test model is 365 grams.
We start with the product in hand ...
As for the cover, the crown mark he dresses it with the typical proposal he has been using for some time: a simple sleeve with a blue zip pocket, from which the crown of the brand stands out in black. You can see in other tests that we have made of Black Crown some photo.
Once with her in hand we can get many obvious things, like the high balance of the shovel of the sticking type and its diamond shape that, being Black Crown, surprises this form. In addition, their faces are in relief by means of points that occupy the totality of the same, something that will help us safe with the effects. Touch is medium, although we thought it would be hard.
In the aesthetic section, the base color of the blade is glossy black with the center in turquoise blue and the Crown, more Black than ever, with the edge in white. In the construction of the bridge it incorporates a material in red that helps to alleviate the vibrations of the hit and gives firmness to the blade, likewise on the sides of the bridge it brings the name of the brand in an added rubber projection that, as we have already pointed out in Other models (Puma for example), in addition to being an aesthetic detail, helps us a lot in holding the racket with the non-dominant hand while we are in the waiting position and gives us an extra grip to launch the racket in our backhand strokes. .

In principle, anyone who likes a bit the world of shovels will have preconceived an idea of the type of model that we have only by looking at its characteristics in hand: diamond shape and weight at the head are usually synonyms of shovel stick with little control but, as we have already mentioned in the previous section, it has surprised us.

In that area, the Spider is a shovel that behaves well or perhaps very well. It has a good ball output and also lets see some power so in the background is very comfortable and we will not take or to catch or adjust the speed offered by the shovel. Even having the weight on your head is a weapon that can move well from one side to another.
In the end it has surprised us that an option that we thought of attack behaves so well at the bottom of the track.
The sweet spot is medium, penalizing little at the ends of the face. Good behavior, good rally and good ball direction.
The rival goes down and we go up ... volley.
On the net this racket is somewhat slower than in the background, undoubtedly due to its high balance and its shape ... But it has many other advantages since its good power, added to the rough faces and its firmness, allows us to take out very dangerous balls and fast. To be more delicate in the volleys we will have to understand that this model does not move with ease due to its characteristics so we will always have to keep the blade up in a waiting position and with a short set to be able to anticipate the blow.
In the network presents a good behavior because it is a spider with a soul of attack but no boasts beyond the intentions and good work of those who wield it.

The Spider has the weight shifted to the head as we have already said and, if we add its large diamond shape, we see that some of the characteristics it offers us are a good contact surface, which will give us greater security in all types of trays whether they are more forced or more comfortable, with a rough surface to give it a viper effect ... Taking advantage of its weight at the head we can tighten the tray a lot.
Without a doubt, he has everything to get a good deal in this type of blow, especially in fast, strong and lethal trays. In the trays more containment will have to know how to move the blade with a little more ease but is a lesser evil that we can support perfectly.

This shovel has a soul of power and in this section we will not have any complaints. Not to repeat ourselves, it has all the characteristics so that in the power shots it takes out what it has inside ... But nobody thinks that it is a power model to use: it gives an extra power but despite the fact that it may appear to be a cannon due to its characteristics is a weapon that works well in smash but without neglecting other facets of the game, so it is not indomitable.

While these are very high, we will enjoy a lot with this shovel; As soon as we lower the height a little we will have to make do with it since it would cost a bit more to put the shovel and move it at our whim for a placement exit. It's a small price that we have to pay to enjoy the attack. In general, it will help us as long as we leave the wall strong and lethal and, with other types of exits, we will have to use our knowledge and pull technique because it is difficult to move it if we do not meet these requirements.

As for the balloons we will not have problems with the Spider because, as we said with the ball and power output, we will do it quickly and that will allow a quick symbiosis between the warrior and his weapon. Its wide striking surface and optimal control will help our defensive (or attack) balloons.
Regarding the defense, although it has surprised us a lot at the bottom of the track, the truth is that when defending it will give us one of lime and another of sand, like any self-respecting diamond-shaped shovel ... that is to say, as soon as it bounces, against the wall and recoveries with the tip of the shovel, we will undoubtedly be more than grateful to the Spider but, in the section of taking a ball from the basement with a balloon or precise touch of a chiquita, we will once again have to pull our very good hand since we will have to have strength and firmness to put the shovel well under the ball.
In summary…
Of aesthetics it is a simple shovel, with a modern touch that I dare to assure that they will be of the pleasure of all type of public whether juvenile or senior. Black always blends well with everything and the turquoise blue used in aesthetics is not at all strident.
It is a blade with high balance and diamond shape, as are usually the models of pure power, but in this case does not have a hard touch but rather medium, so it fails to meet the three main characteristics of an aggressive shovel, the so-called cannon. This means that it is a power shovel but without neglecting ball control and an optimal ball output.
For all the above, in smash it goes well, on a platter it goes well (in a snake very well for the relief) but it has caught our attention, surprisingly, the background game track that has the Spider. It is a shovel very comfortable to the rally, which invites you to risk a little with the background hits without asking anything in return. Power shovel YES, but it is also 'jugona' in many aspects.
As for the volleys and defense, to say that it behaves correctly with the pros and cons offered by its characteristics ... But I don't think there is much complaint in this area of the court. It also offers us a raised face and a medium sweet spot that give good results on this side of the track.
It is a model that I recommend for a Medium and High Level because, for certain hitting situations, we will have to throw some knowledge and techniques to get it all out because, if not, it may seem a bit rough.
