Padel World Press .- On this occasion, as has happened on previous occasions, the test will be a model of the brand that we present with two versions: the normal and the SOFT version. That is why we will not talk about a single blade, but we will do it with the two versions of the Asia Air System and the new technology that incorporates and defines them.
Having said that, we are going to carry out a joint test of both, in which we will talk about the Asia Air model, differentiating them when appropriate between Normal Version and Soft Version.
These new Asia incorporate a technological novelty in its manufacture, which is about the Concept Air System. It consists of an air chamber integrated in the interior of the blade and that runs from the bottom of the handle, or handle, to the bridge of the blade, that is to say the parts of the blade where they reproduce, acting as a transmitter to our hand, the vibrations that are generated when hitting the ball. It is in this fact that the brand wants to influence since with the air chamber what it wants is to reduce to zero the vibrations in our arm that are so damaging, so let's check it out.
We start with the product in hand ...
As for the covers, the brand of the crown continues with its covers of these years with colors such as red and blue which highlights the crown of the brand in black.
Once with them in hand we will describe them independently:
The Asia Air System Normal model It is round in shape. It has the faces of the blade with matte black base color and with the famous crown that gives the name to the brand very highlighted as a 'carbon seen', with the edge of it in red and with the name of the model Asia in red type graffiti. On the edge of the blade, on top, is 'crowned' with the characteristic Black Crown in red and white.
The Asia Air System Soft model It is round in shape. It has the faces of the blade with matte black base color and with the famous crown that gives its name to the brand highlighted in white, with the edge of it in blue and the name of the Asia model in blue graffiti type and incorporate the title Soft. On the edge of the blade, on top, is 'crowned' with the characteristic Black Crown in white and blue.
Both have the handle of medium size and have a very comfortable perforated grip in red and blue respectively, to match the details. The support string is a bracelet type similar to a sliding knot, something that we love, in the hand we notice that it has a balanced weight and, although in the Red Asia Normal version has it slightly displaced towards the head, it is not very noticeable .
In hand we warn the Air System. The air chamber can be observed that comes out of the handle and travels inside the arms of the bridge of the shovel protected by a plastic material in red or blue respectively to match also the details of each blade.
Wishing to try the novelty new, let's go ... To the track !!
As we have already said, we are going to analyze two versions of the same Asia Air System model in the same test, so we are going to structure the Asia Normal model and differentiate it when appropriate in its Soft version.
As always we started the test with the rally in the track background.
In that area we find a model with little ball exit; In other words, the shovel tells us to follow each hit to give it speed since it does not offer us any extra speed after the impact. So on the one hand we will have to use force in the hit but it will benefit us in a greater control of the ball ... And everything has its pros and cons.
In Normal Asia the touch is medium and dry having a little more power than the other version but with a very good driving of the ball. In the Asia Soft Version, as its name suggests, we will have a soft touch, without being exaggerated, which takes a bit of power but makes it much easier to direct the ball wherever we want.
The sweet spot in both is wide and, although it does not reach the entire face of the blade, it does allow us a small margin if we strike outside the center of it. In the SOFT version, the sweet spot is a little more remarkable, undoubtedly being softer.
We throw a deep ball without hardly bouncing and go up to the net ... Touch volley.
In the volley, our Asia behaves in a very neutral way. By not having the effect of the ball we can fly using the force we want and, taking advantage of having good control, we will direct it to perfection, only that we will always have to pull our arm to speed up.
In the Soft version, we will notice a little more control in the volley and that even when we give the ball with excessive force, the shovel will help us by subtracting a bit from it to continue giving it direction.
It is a comfortable model for volleying, so we do not ask you to take out some super-fast volleys by yourself with the simple fact of putting the shovel. As we said in the background, we have to accompany it with our arm for speed and in the network it was not going to be different.
It responds to a balloon and we are going to give it to the smash.
What we have seen from the beginning is that the Asia model has good control, with a normal ball output and, at the moment of hitting the smash, we notice that the power is not its strong point. Those who look for a shovel with a great power that add strength to the one they already have in their arm could say that "this shovel does not fire" but, however, they do not look for a cannon but have a lot of strength or a well-purified technique They will not have any problem in bringing the ball to their field or to take it out by three. It is a non-power control blade and, on this side, it is checked from minute one. There are no significant differences in both versions beyond the sound on impact, stronger and drier on Normal.
As soon as we go back a bit more to use the tray.
The tray of the Asia model is a blow to use without problems both on the reverse and on the right side and, emphasizing what has been said previously, if we need depth and speed we will have to hit the ball with intention but this is where we check that control of the ball is very good. We can direct it almost wherever we want, the Normal Model being faster and the Soft Model more controllable.
Maybe on the subject of vipers we need a bit of aggressiveness but if we know how to give it from our arm the blow will come out. Control and control is your virtue.
And when we get back to the bottom when we have a balloon, touch leave the wall.
It happens to us like in the smash as far as the power but, to the being a blow in which the energy we transmit it to the hand very easily, it will not be a problem. Instead, we will have the advantage of being able to be excessive with the strength without risk to send the ball to the height of the rival's head or to the next court. It is also a shovel that moves with ease so we will build the fast blow and, without fear, we can hit the ball with strength with the advantage of having a good control over the chosen direction. If, on the other hand, we want to go out as a child, we have to measure the level of strength well, because if we are timorous in this aspect, we can fall short.
As for balloons.
In this type of shovel, as we have been defining it, there is a process of adaptation for this type of blow since at the beginning it is difficult to take the 'timming'. As it is not a shovel with a large ball exit, we will have to regulate the application of force in each balloon until we reach the point. Some of them will be short, especially if you come from shovels with a lot of ball, but once you get to it, the balloons will go without problem and the chosen direction.
It's time to talk about AIR SYSTEM.
As for the vibrations of the shovel we have to say, in all honesty, that we have not had any problem of vibration or pain in our arm and we must also add that the tester of this shovel has a chronic shoulder injury so that usually choose well the shovels in these aspects.
In the case of Asia, he has not referred any complaint in the parties in which he has used both versions, so under his opinion and ours, it works.
In summary…
In aesthetics we give them an outstanding. The truth is that the chosen aesthetic is the one that works best as a general normal: A dark base color, in this case black, combined with brush strokes in more striking colors, in this case a red color and in its Soft version a white and blue alive.
The Asia model has two versions whose main difference we notice in the feel of the blade. The Normal version feels like a medium touch and the Soft version that is softer, thus covering the tastes of a large majority of amateur players whose type of touch is an important thing in what they look at directly or indirectly (in the feeling they have hitting when they try blades)
The Asia Air System model is a shovel suitable for all types of levels, since it enjoys great control and does not add speed to the ball on its own.
In its weak point we will note the power, although it is not a defect but rather that it is not its quality since it is a shovel directed to the control, that has it and a lot.
As details, the wrist-type restraint rope that we like and the original grip that is very comfortable and versatile for those who do not wear overgrips and, even using them, when drilled the original will have a better sweat evacuation.
