The Spanish has lived very closely the XIº World Championship for Minors, as a member of the technical team of the United States Paddle Association. Already back in North American lands, he wanted to share with the readers of Padel World Press the experiences accumulated during an unforgettable week.

Padel World Press .- I just arrived from Children's World full of energy and vitality. The truth is that this test is a unique experience from the little Sub'10 to the biggest ones. Between us it is very much enjoyed watching the kids because they know how to squeeze the time in the World Cup at 200%.

We are left with many anecdotes from the team United States, of the popes, of the boys of the organization, before whom I take off my hat because they were all putting maximum effort and passion so that everything went as best as possible. The truth is that it's worth sleeping little, losing weight just by putting smiles on each of the participating boys and getting them, at least for them, this is a unique experience, one they can remember for the rest of their lives.

This is the third time that the USA team competed in a World Junior Championship. We have brought new guys, for whom this was their first their first World Championship and 3 couples have joined in Sub'12 and a couple in Girls' Sub'10. The most positive assessment is that year after year juniors are added. We are going to work very hard so that in the next World Youth Championship, which will be played in Portugal at 2019, there are more clubs in the United States interested in forming children and we can take more boys and girls of all ages.

I have to thank in the first place our sponsors of padel clothing, Vairo USA, Texas of Brazil and Herbalife Nutrition, who support the USPA (The United States Padel Association) for a long time. Without them, registration for the tournament and uniforms for boys would not be possible.

Thanks also to the coaches who were helping the players: Galatea Cristaldi, Paloma Lázaro, Belén Salcedo, Claudio Trevisan, Jorge Couceiro and Diego Pezzoni… And to Mike May, President of Padel of the USPA, who always tries to put the maximum effort to get new sponsors.

Balance and conclusions

From my experience, I have to say that being able to be in contact with presidents of other countries, talk with coaches, see different perspectives and know the real situation of paddle tennis in other countries of the world is priceless ... So I left Malaga with I am eager to continue working so that this wonderful sport continues to grow in the USA.

I keep many moments these days that I know I will remember forever. An example would be the good attitude of Sofía and Roberta, a female U-10 couple, who squeezed every minute of the World Cup or the tears that jumped at me watching a U-14 couple, formed by Alexa and Natalia, playing against Paraguay. At the end of the meeting, crying, they did not stop encouraging each other. It is priceless to be able to see these things and feel them first hand.

Thank you USPA for giving me this opportunity… for many more !!

Belén Salcedo.
