They have shared many experiences, unforgettable moments and long conversations during the last years. They have forged a friendship relationship based on respect, on the passion for paddle tennis ... That is why Óscar Solé wanted to be with Fernando Belasteguín one day in history: in which the Pehuajó player assured his role as number 1 in the world for the XNUMXth consecutive season.

Padel World Press .- It was a special tournament and therefore we decided to go to Zaragoza, to enjoy a historic day in the paddle ... The 28 October 2016, Fernando Belasteguín secured the leadership of the world padel during 15 consecutive years, the second with the Brazilian Pablo Lima , in another season to frame.

And well, it was worth the trip. An opportunity to meet with friends again, to share hours with the geniuses of this sport and to feel very close the affection of the Aragonese fans.

But today it's time to talk about these two monsters, the predators, the insatiable Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima, who won their twenty-first title as a couple, the 11 last year and the 10 that they have carried so far ... An outrageous barbarity.

And as much as for some the past and the statistics are not important, it is always good to know and to inform of how 1 number of the world is reached during 15 years of uninterrupted form.

It is worth remembering that during these two years as a couple, Bela and Lima have lost only two games on the court, the other three losses have been injuries.
In the last season, Lima was injured in the semifinals of the first tournament of the year, the Master of Barcelona. He reappeared in the fourth test, in Argentina, and from then on they won all the titles except the Masters Finals, where again the serious injury of the Brazilian player left them out in the semifinals.

It was precisely in that 'Tournament of Masters' in which for the first time a couple could defeat them on the track. Sanyo Gutiérrez-Juani Mieres prevailed in the last game of the Group Stage, when both pairs were already classified.

The second fall within the 20 × 10 was this year, in the semifinals of the second tournament, the Master of Valencia, against Sanyo Gutiérrez-Paquito Navarro. And if we talk about statistics we find that precisely Argentine Sanyo Gutiérrez has been the player who has been able to beat Belasteguín the most times in recent years. He did it with Seba Nerone, Maxi Sánchez, Juani Mieres and Paquito Navarro as teammates.

Another immaculate year

With three tournaments and the Masters Finals to finish the season, Bela and Lima have managed to secure the number 1, with another immaculate trajectory ... 48 wins in 49 matches (we did not count as defeat the La Nucia final because they did not even jump to track).

But in addition, they have yielded only 4 sets in these 49 games, three against Sanyo and Paquito (two in the Valencia Masters final and one in A Coruña) and the rest against Borja Yribarren-Guga Váquez in the Barcelona Masters.

The human side of Bela

When he was honored after reaching 15 years as King of Paddle, Bela was thrilled to remember the sacrifice of all that time being away from their parents and loved ones in Argentina, as well as the amount of time spent away from home See your children

But he also had a great detail for his teammates, because the tribute was only for him while Pablo Lima went to the dressing room alone. He reminded everyone that paddle tennis is a sport for couples and whoever does not consider it that way is wrong ... To then thank the two great companions he has had: Juan Martín Díaz and Pablo Lima ... Another detail that makes this simple, humble guy close and fighter, who in Zaragoza has added the 205th title of his spectacular professional career.

In spite of everything, and in spite of many, we have had the luck to enjoy this historic day and this great padel world couple that will continue writing more chapters in the history of this sport.

Thanks guys for what they do inside the track and mainly for what they show and they are out of it ... Puntako from Amigos!
