Padel World Press .- With only four contested tournaments, Ara Martínez and Esther Butcher They decided to separate their ways and undertake new adventures with other compañeras. Despite having started this 2018 with much desire, the little continuity in their game led them to end their journey.

As the member of the StarVie Team He told us: "The first months of this campaign have not been good because the expectations in terms of play and results have not been met. In the World Padel Tour tournaments played so far we only managed to get into the Final Draw in Zaragoza, an appointment in which we achieved an excellent result as we played the last 16. But, saving this test, we have not achieved the desired balance of play within the track so far this season. "

Although both are good friends, they were very clear that they had to make this decision: "At the beginning of the year we talked about a project in terms of training and tournaments to dispute that, for some things or for others, we could not carry out. We have made a difficult decision because we have a very good relationship and together we have achieved important results in Minors. However, taking stock of what we have been campaigning for, we believed that it was best to separate our roads. "

When explaining how the possibility of sharing the track with the Portuguese arose Filipa Mendonça He said: "Last year we were going to try out in some World Padel Tour Circuit tournament and some Absolute Tests in Portugal but in the end, due to some circumstances or others, it could not be. In these moments, taking advantage of our good relationship and coinciding with the fact that I was looking for a new partner, we talked and decided to play together until the end of the season. "

Very excited with the start of this new challenge, Ara Martinez wanted to talk about her new partner: "Filipa is a player with character, like me, quite confident and who stands out both in defense and attack. I think we will form a fairly balanced duo. "

As for the challenges that will be set, he is very clear: "The objectives remain the same as at the beginning of the season, always trying to be realistic ... We want to reach the maximum number of final Draws in the WPT to continue scoring points and climb in the ranking… If we have an affordable crossover, we will try to play some round of XNUMX ”.
