He has only played one round of the Padel Tour World Tour during this season and, of course, his performance could not be more outstanding. After starting their way in the Pre-Preview Phase, and together with Paula Hermida, both reached the Round of 16, in which they fell to Patty Llaguno-Eli Amatriain (6-3 and 6-1). Great result for a great player.

Padel World Press .- 30 years, and a degree in Psychology, his is one of those cases of people who started playing tennis (when he had only 5 years) and ended up going to paddle (17). As he recalled: "He was a good friend, may he rest in peace, who insisted so much on me to try this sport ... He had some reason".

Thanks to Luis José Peralta he started competing outside of Aragón and, as soon as he formed the RZCT team (club that Ángela has been part of since childhood), he did not hesitate to count on her. At present, it is one of the reference sets of the Spanish padel since among its ranks are Mapi and Majo Sánchez Alayeto, Eli Amatriain, Patty Llaguno, Paula Eyheraguibel or the captain, Mariana Pérez. "Without a doubt, it is here where I have grown the most and learned."

Reference player in Aragon… When did you decide to make the leap to the professional circuit?

The truth is that during this year he had not yet played any World Paddle Tour test. Shortly before the start of the appointment in Valladolid I was presented with the opportunity to play with Paula Hermida and I did not think about it. I've known Paula for a long time but we've never played together. I wanted to compete and doing it with her was something that especially motivated me.

What is the most complicated thing about competing in the WPT Circuit?

In my case, what is more complicated for me is to train and prepare the tournaments. I do not have much time and I do it when classes allow me or during my holidays.

What are the main changes that, in your opinion. Has the women's padel suffered in these last campaigns?

Maybe it is having more room and more support ... In fact, there was a World Padel Tour program dedicated exclusively to girls and that is what is needed ... Little by little, a growing gap is being made to the women's padel. Another change that I would highlight is that it has become more aggressive. The players are trained thoroughly and prepare a lot to be competing in the Circuit. The logical consequence is that the level is increasing.

How many hours do you dedicate to paddle a week?

I train less than I would like or should. In total, 6 or 8 hours will be what I can devote to the week between workouts, games and physical.

In Valladolid you managed to get to Table ... What summary would you make of your passage through the pucelana test?

The summary is very positive. My goal was to fight to get into the Final Draw, knowing that it was not going to be easy. We started in Pre-Previa and we had to win 4 games to achieve it ... We did it and we even got to the round of eighths !! Go figure; We could not be more happy.

What was the best moment of all those who lived in Valladolid?

The truth is that I would keep everything. Every day there he supposed to take a little step more. I would highlight having lived and known Paula in depth but if I had to choose, I'll take the hug we gave ourselves after winning the first round of the Final Draw.

With morale through the roof, will we start to see you more for the Final Draws?

Hopefully ... For now, and as long as work allows, we will try to play some more tournaments together.

What goals did you have at the beginning of the season? Have they changed after this result?

The truth is that I had not set any goal since I did not intend to play the World Paddle Tour Circuit. Now, the recent experience with Paula, added to the desire I had to compete again, have made me change my mind. As I say, the goal is to try to play the tests that we can make compatible with the work.

What do you bring to Paula Hermida and what does she give you?

I can tell you about what she brings to me more than what I contribute to her. Paula is a calm girl and at the same time very funny. It gives me security and gives me the confidence I need on the track. Outside of it, we understood each other and got on very well, something fundamental and that was noticeable when playing each game.

How would you describe yourself inside the track?

I think I am a person with character, who always respects the players in front of me and tries to analyze situations. I need to connect a lot with the person next to me in order to get the best out of me.

What is your best shot and which one would you like to improve?

I think my best shot is the tray and the right-hand volley. The golpe that, without a doubt, I have to improve is the auction.

What does it mean that a brand like HEAD has decided to bet on you?

My relationship with HEAD goes back a long way ... I am going to celebrate 10 years with them and I only have words of gratitude for the treatment and affection I have received since then. For me it is not a brand but a team of people with whom I have linked in a very close way, especially with Ricky. We maintain a friendship that transcends sports and that I hope will last forever.

What is your shovel? What would you highlight about her and why would you recommend her to the fans?

My shovel is the Zephyr. I would highlight how light and manageable it is as well as its balance between control and power. This is why I always recommend it to the girls who ask me

What are your dreams? What goal would you like to achieve in the world of paddle tennis?

My dream is to enjoy what I do at all times and to be able to one day apply my psychology degree in the sports field. My goal is to improve myself day by day, both on the paddle and in my life in general.

What message would you like to send to fans of this sport?

To those who have not tried it, I would tell them to cheer since it is a very grateful sport because it is not as expensive to learn as, for example, tennis. It is also long-lived and it is easy to have fun. To those who practice it at different levels, who continue to enjoy and support it so that it continues to grow more and more.

Finally, I would like to thank all the people who have always encouraged me to play and support me today on this path: my mother, Héctor, my students and my family from Pádel Plaza… Also to HEAD, Ceci, the ants and the RZCT, the guys who help me train and pamper me so much, Joaquín Moso… THANK YOU !!!
