The 11 of July, the Spanish Federation announced the list of players and players pre-called for the dispute of the XIIIº World Championship by National Teams. It's time to get to know the sensations of the protagonists that could defend our country in a meeting that will be played from 14 to 20 in November in Lisbon.

Padel World Press .- One of the first to attend to the colleagues of the FEP was Alejandra Salazar, member of the couple number 2 of the WPT Ranking and a true bulwark of the Spanish female paddle for many years.

Winner of the Absolute Worlds of 2010 and 2014, Madrid dreams of having the opportunity to win this prestigious title for the third time in her career.

Do not miss this interview.

I guess I'm very happy to be shortlisted to represent your country in such an important event?

Thank you. Yes, very happy, since it is a Championship that takes place every two years and we are always with the maximum enthusiasm. With which, I am very happy.

You have won the World Cup with Spain, both in Absolute and in Minors. How have you lived these victories?

Well always in a very special way, since everything that leads to that week of coexistence and training with all the players, made me live some magical moments. I have been lucky enough to be able to compete in different World Cups and in very different scenarios, such as Cancun, Mallorca or Buenos Aires, among others. So a privilege.

In the team you will be almost the six best couples in the world, combining veteran with youth. How do you see the selection?

As we have said on other occasions, I see a super team ... The truth is that I would give two. It is true that right now the Spanish women's paddle is in the top positions of the world paddle so we are expected to do a good job.

Do you think that you are the favorite maxims to revalidate title and even your maximum rivals, for that level of exigency that perhaps you can put?

Yes, I really believe that we start as favorites. Already in the last World Cup we did very well and got a resounding victory against Argentina, our goal being the victory.

How have you seen this start of the season with Marta Marrero? Despite the defeat in the quarterfinals of Valladolid, you are still leading the race of the season.

We have few tournaments yet. Yes it is true that we have started very well, something that does not have to cloud the last defeat. We know that women's padel is very even and any rival can surprise at any time ... And more Gemma-Lucía, who are playing at a high level. We have to keep working, knowing that everything is very hard since you can lose in the first round, as has happened to us in Valladolid, or win the tournament, as we have done twice this year… And all this due to that equality. It all comes down to playing 200% and continuing to work together as we have done so far.

In the World Cup you will be under the command of an old partner: Iciar Montes. Will it be something special to have as a coach a person who has been so important to you?

Yes, I also trust her a lot and we get along very well. With which I am delighted to have a person who knows us perfectly, since it is something a bit new ... We have always had some captains who perhaps did not follow the female paddle as much as she did, so I consider it a great success.

A wish that you have Alejandra both personally and collectively for this World Championship?

The next 29 in August, at the 12: 00 hours, Jon García-Ariño, General FEP Coach; and Iciar Montes, Women's National Team, will announce the final list with the players that will be part of the Spanish National Team.

From the Federation it was recalled that the news related to the XIII World Championship by National Teams can be followed through the hashtag  # MundialPádel16.
