Padel World Press - The Spanish player Ale Galán has responded harshly to Lisandro Borges, WPT promoter, after his statements in which he implied that the world number one "has jumped on the bandwagon" in the next WPT La Rioja Open tournament.

Lisandro Borges published in a video some very harsh accusations towards the player Ale Galán, in which he accused the man from Madrid of faking an injury so as not to play the next test World Padel Tour it's from the season.

But Ale Galán has not been the only one absent in this test; He has been joined by Coki Nieto, Pablo Lima, Ramiro Moyano, Mike Yanguas, Álex Arroyo… which suggests that this accusation has not been a coincidence.

The current number one in the world has explained the reasons for his absence in this tournament and it is the injury that has been dragging on for more than two years. Some knee problems, already in the hands of the best professionals, which if not treated responsibly can be fatal for a full professional career. As we all know, health comes first.

Here we leave you the complete letter from the player, responding to Lisandro Borges and informing all his followers:

"Given the statements of Lisandro Borges, WPT promoter of the tournaments in Buenos Aires, La Rioja, Chile and Paraguay, where questions my honor and commitment to the sport I would like to express the following.

Above all is my passion for paddle tennis and above all respect for the fans of this wonderful sport. I have been dragging important problems in both of my knees for two years, which I have never used as an excuse, but after assessing with many specialists, I have been recommended that if I want to have a long and healthy career I have to start prioritizing my health to the competition.

Last year, with the objective of the season practically fulfilled, we decided to go to Buenos Aires. Argentina (tournament organized by Lisandro). With the desire to offer the best possible show to the Argentine fans and win there. We did it, ending the year with more than 30 weeks of competition, where we won 14 titles and we competed more than 80% of the weekends during the season, with the wear and tear that this meant for my knees.

This year, after a very short pre-season and with very little time on the track, due to my injury and the treatment that I have carried out for 6 weeks, I decided to play the first two tournaments of the year and later assess with my medical team and sports. The assessment of the professionals who advise me has been to stop and take care of myself. Continue training under medical supervision with less workload, with a specific treatment preparing for Chile and subsequent tournaments.

My intention is always to play as many tournaments as possible. I assure you that it makes me even more angry not to be able to compete with my partner and the rest of the players on the circuit and above all it hurts me not to be able to go to a country that feels so much love and passion for padel as Argentina is. Trying to question my honor and respect for this sport is something that I will not allow and I will take the measures that I deem appropriate against anyone who tries to undermine my professionalism..

Thanks to the fans for the messages of support. A greeting to all and I hope to be able to compete again in Chile »
