The Granada Open ended as it had been all week. Convulsed, effervescent and unpredictable. In a final of ups and downs, Cristian Gutiérrez and Franco Stupaczuk managed to win the title after defeating Sanyo Gutiérrez and Maxi Sánchez for 6-2, 6-7 and 6-2.

They started as favorites Sanyo and Maxi. By ranking, feelings of play and becoming during the Nazari week, the number one pair had everything to add their eighth title of the year and expand their advantage in the ranking World Padel Tour. They would have to defeat Stupaczuk and Cristian who, after the semifinals, were capable of everything.

And they started sending Gutiérrez and Sánchez. As planned. Sthey altered to the track with a high rate, without errors, and took advantage of the lack of intensity that characterizes Cristian and Stupa at the beginning of the meetings. The result, an 6-2 in favor of the numbers one that did justice to what was seen on the track.

Everything could change because Cristian and Stupa were still far from their level and because the one shown by Sanyo and Maxi is really difficult to maintain over time. So it was. Little by little the duo number six found answers to the framework that had been raised by their rivals and they managed to open the wall that they had planted in the network. The prize, a 'break' that gave air.

But it would not be enough. It could be because they had up to four set balls in service, but they could not materialize them. The best version of a Sanyo in a state of grace equaled the encounter and sent the second sleeve to the tie-break.

From the Russian roulette in which the sudden death became victorious Stupa and Cristian. It was like that because the chaqueño raised his level to the same height to which he raised his paddle to the skies of the Palace of Sports of Granada to finish without mercy and because Cristian was intoned to tie Sanyo. The third set was a reality and its future, indecipherable.

So convulsed had been the end of the sleeve - Sanyo and Maxi had match ball - which took its toll. To the numbers one concretely. They disconnected from the game, lost the state of grace and began to commit unforced errors. Especially Maxi.

And there they smelled Stupa and Cristian blood. Before the unsuspected weakness of their rivals applied the best formula: take a step forward and accelerate the pace. Two consecutive breaks put them with a considerable advantage in the score and although Sanyo and Maxi grabbed the marker, the match was seen for judgment.

When Stupa came out the match and the tournament were closed. The couple number four, Stupa and Cristian, was done with the Granada Open by a pair 6-2, 6-7 and 2-6 and added to its showcases the first title of the 2018. A crowning climax to a tournament to frame.
